Cost per student: Guided tours are $1 per student, with all chaperones free.
TMM Members and their families admitted free to tours and other programs.
How far in advance must visit be scheduled? We request a minimum of 2 weeks in advance.
Days and hours of program availability: Guided Tours are available weekdays, from 9 am to 4 pm. 
Handle real fossils, and learn about dinosaurs and prehistoric reptiles on the Prehistoric Life Tour.  Discover artifacts and explore Texas archeology and Native American cultures on the American Indian Tour.  Explore the unique diversity of Texas’ natural world on the Texas Wildlife Tour, or learn more about our fascinating rocks and minerals collections on the Rocks and Minerals Tour.  Group tours include curriculum guides with a pre-visit lesson plan along with post-visit activities.

Are programs aligned with the TEKS? Yes, guided tours and curriculum guides are based on multiple themes from the TEKS in science and social studies.  Curriculum guides provide specific TEKS correlations for each lesson and activity.
Classroom resources available:                     Curriculum guides available for permanent and special exhibits, grades PK-12; Earth Science classroom kit, grades 3-6.
Permanent Exhibits:
Paleontology exhibits include the 40-foot Texas Pterosaur and other exciting creatures from millions of years of the Earth's history. 
Geology exhibits include meteorites, gems, minerals, and the rock cycle. 
Natural History dioramas showcase the natural regions of Texas and highlight unique Texas wildlife. 
Cultural History exhibits display collections of historic firearms, pre-Columbian pottery, and artifacts from American Indian cultures and pre-historic Texas and the Southwest.

The Texas Memorial Museum maintains collections of over 5 million objects, from firearms to fossils. Charted by the Texas State Legislature in 1935, TMM serves the public by preserving, studying, and interpreting the natural and cultural heritage of Texas.  Hours are Mon.-Fri. 9-5, Sat. 10-5, and Sun. 1-5, with free admission every day.
