Limit of students per visit: total of 80 including chaperones
Chaperone/student ratio: 1 chaperone to 10 students
Length of programs: K-3 allow 1 hour; 4-12 allow 1.5 hours
Cost per student: no admission fees for adults or children
How far in advance must visit be scheduled? If visits are desired in March through May, allow at least 2 weeks prior notice

ALL SCHOOL TOURS MUST BE SCHEDULED THROUGH THE TOUR OFFICE.
Days and hours of program availability: The museum is open every day of the week from 9am until 5pm except Christmas Day
School tours are available during school sessions
Adult tours are self-guided
Research facilities are open 9am until 5pm Monday-Friday except federal holidays
Curriculum and Instruction Information
Subject area(s): Primarily U.S. History but art, language arts, geography, economics could provide multidisciplinary curriculum;
Educational materials about President Johnson as well as Mrs. Johnson are based on primary sources from the library archives.
Grade Levels: K - adult
Are programs aligned with the TEKS? Yes; also based upon National Standards for Social Studies
Classroom resources available:                      Primary source educational materials for teachers to use in classrooms;
Student educational materials;
Research facilities available for teachers and students (14-16 years accompanied by adult when researching archives; 16 years and older may conduct own research in archives)

Political career and personal life of Lyndon Baines Johnson, 36th President of the United States
7/8 replica of Oval Office as it was during Johnson's administration
First Lady's Gallery highlighting Mrs. Johnson's life, her interests and projects she championed while First Lady
Professional Development Resources:
Summer workshop for teachers to conduct primary source research in the archives, write activities and lesson plans based on research;
U.S. History Advanced Placement Institute for middle and high school teachers;
Teacher workshops presented in collaboration with other museums and libraries;
In-service training for faculty and staff on library use and facilities

These exhibits cover a wide range of topics and interests, so check our website for updated exhibit information. Additional educational materials are developed for many of the larger temporary exhibits.
