Days and hours of program availability: Rail-borne field trips are scheduled certain times throughout the year and change annually.

Previsit materials including the history of railroading in Austin and Texas, the Hill Country's steam railroad, how steam locomotives work, glossary, maps of routes, & black-and-white photograph.
Permanent Exhibits:
The Austin Steam Train Association is organized to operate steam train excursions in order to preserve the history of the American steam train industry and to educate the public on steam trains and the landscape along the route.
Tours are also available aboard the stationary train located in the Cedar Park train yard.
Other Important Information:
Educator information packet available.
Wheelchairs can be accommodated on the train.
Concession car sells soft drinks and snacks, and students may eat bag lunches on the train.
